Dr. Alfred Thompson Eade: (1891-1988)
Dr. Alfred Thompson (Tom) Eade was a man of many talents. He was an artist, actor, soldier, college professor, radio announcer, evangelist, pastor and also the author and illustrator of the Panorama Bible Study Books.
Tom was born in Stoke Newington, England on November 17, 1891 to Thomas Saranck Bunn Eade and Effie Briggs Eade. He was a commercial artist in London until 1912 when he rejoined his family, who had left England to homestead in Clairsholm, Alberta, Canada. During World War I, Tom served in the Canadian Infantry, and in 1917 was severely wounded at Passchendaele, Belgium. Following an extended period of recovery in England, he returned to his home in Hanna Alberta, and in 1919 married Ruth Sipprelle.
Tom’s health continued to be frail causing he to move, yet again, to California to seek healing. Even through his seizures (a result of his war wounds), Tom found work as an artist and illustrator. He continued this work until he was miraculously healed. Following healing from his seizures, Tom enrolled in Bible College and went on to be a minister and teach of the Gospel.
The Beginning of the Panorama Bible Study Series
Years have passed since Dr. Eade’s voice resounded in classrooms and auditoriums. Though his story lives on. His wall charts, chalk drawings, illustrations, and notes from those years as a teacher, pastor, and evangelist became the basis for his books that comprise The New Panorama Bible Study Course. The bible study books are a result of his desire “to help students of the Bible to visualize the Scripture and better understand the Bible”.
In the 1940’s The first book of the bible study was published, The Panorama Book No. 1 “The Plan of the Ages”. This book has since been printed in more than 14 languages and 16 dialects. Dr. Eade continued his work with the writing and illustrating of three more Panorama Bible studies, study two: “The Study of Angelology”, study three: “The 2nd Coming of Christ”, and study four: “The Book of Revelation”, along with The Expanded Panorama Bible Study Course.
At the age of 96, Dr. Eade re-did “The Plan of Ages” in color while living with his granddaughter, Connie King, in Oregon. Connie redid panorama 2, 3, and 4 in color when the family created Oak Knoll Publishing in 2007.
I’ve read the posting from Evan Odegaard, and my father currently is using two images that he got permission to use, but he is NOT computer literate AT ALL (we are in different states). I established a central Facebook page for the bible study class and I record each of his lessons so that they can be uploaded to this page for others to learn from that wasn’t able to dial in for the lesson live. He is teaching the bible ‘cover to cover’ and I would like to present clean, clear photos instead of anything other than pristine images. Thanks for reaching out. To help you out in the best way possible, we believe you should purchase a set of the Panorama Bible Study Posters. Either the new or old posters to match the current copy of the book set you have. The only difference with the new posters (if you have the older version of the books) is that the posters are more visually appealing with brighter more beautiful colors. Each poster presents the same information as before. Ultimately, just up to you to choose the best one for you and your needs!

Dr. Eade created one of a kind enlarged posters, each hand painted and taller than Dr. Eade himself. These posters have been made into new print and are sold in a smaller version, though still poster size.

Thank you for reaching out! You are absolutely right about there being posters. We currently have two versions of the posters for sale on the website. There are the older posters that coincide with the older version of the printed books, and the newer version of the posters which coincide with the updated Panorama books that were redone this past year. These books have been such a help in explaining to unbelievers the plan of God through the ages.
I’ve considered making Bible teaching videos on you tube and using these books as visual aids to help in the video teaching process but I am worried about infringing on any copyright laws. Could you tell me if it is permissable to use pictures from these books limitedly in videos for teaching purposes? I would think it would only help to sell the books.

I have owned the “Panorama Series” for more years than I can recall. I am 80 years old and I don’t recall ever challenging the author on his biblical conclusions but I have not had any success in finding out his educational background, his religious training or beliefs etc. Is there a biography?

Hello, Years ago I purchased and still own the New “Panorama” Bible Study Series and while looking at it today, the first Sunday after the deconfinement where I live, I thought I’d research who the author was and see if I could find the rest of the series, as it’s a great way for those who learn visually to learn the Bible.

hi, i saw an The Expanded Panorama Bible Study Course: From the Creation of Angels to the New Jerusalem Paperback – 1886 book for sale but there were no pictures. Thanks for reaching out to us about the Expanded Panorama Bible Study! This is indeed the real copy of that book that Connie’s grandfather wrote. I spoke with Connie, and she explained that the only difference between the Expanded Panorama Bible Study that she now sells (here on Oak Knoll Publishing) is that the old one was hardback with a sleeve and this one is paperback!
